In business since 1976 and continuing, our first activity was the Auctioning of Tea across India. 70 percent of India’s tea is sold this way at registered auction centres at Kolkata, Guwahati and Siliguri Our group company, Contemporary Brokers P. Ltd. auctioned teas worth just over Indian Rupees 9 billion (US$ 200 million). The variety of tea produced in India is manifold, the broad categories by technique of manufacture being CTC and Orthodox. The destinations are both domestic as well as foreign.
